The Rotary Club of Minden inducted Cody Krull, Michael Krings and Bennett Johnson on August 27, 2023. Dena Beck will formally join the club on October 26, 2023.

The Rotary Club of Minden sponsored two exceptional high school students to the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp which was held at Maranatha Camp this past July.

The Rotary Club of Minden will serve as the International Club Sponsor, partnering with the Rotary Club of Totoras, Argentina, to establish an ophthalmology clinic in Totoras, Argentina.
The Rotary Club of Minden is launching a new fund raiser. The club will install American flags in Minden resident’s yards four times a year: Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Club members will put up and remove the flags at the beginning and end of each of the designated holidays, all for only $25 per year. The club will provide everything needed (an unobtrusive in-ground pipe to hold the flag, the flag pole and flag) and will store the flags between the designated holidays.
“The Rotary club of Minden will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026,” said club president, Marse McCann-Carpenter. “Funds raised from the flag project will support our centennial project, which will be something that will benefit the town of Minden.”
The club members hope to sign-up 100 homes the first year of the project. There is a $25 set-up fee for installing the holding pipe in each yard. “People who want to participate in this fun project can fill out and return the form on the club’s website home page at mindenrotary.com.” Forms can be returned to Cassandra Tomsen, Minden Exchange Bank, PO Box 179, Minden Nebraska. Checks should be made out to The Rotary Club of Minden.
The club hopes that eventually most homes and businesses will join the project, and that Minden, in addition to being known as the Christmas City, will also be known and Nebraska’s American Flag City. “Much thanks for Mayor Larry Evans for being the first household to join the project,” said McCann Carpenter.
The Rotary Club of Minden meets at noon on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at the Minden Opera House. Meetings feature engaging speakers and visitors are welcome.
