The Rotary Club of Minden has inducted three new members to its growing club roster. The new members are Eric VanHorn, owner of Craig Funeral Home, Alan Farlin, a retired educator and former principal of Minden Elementary School, and Duane Kristensen, local farmer/rancher.

Rotary District 5630 Governor Glenn Knuth from Grand Island and Past District Governor Don Peterson attended the meeting to swear in the new members.

“We are so proud to have these new members join us,” said Marse McCann-Carpenter, Rotary Club of Minden president. “We had experienced a membership decline during the COVID years, but over the past 10 months we have seen our club grow by over a third. We are a service organization that supports the Kearney County community, and we are able to do more when we have more members. Our membership chair, Kevin Raun, has been working hard to get the word out that Rotary is all about people of action.”

The Rotary Club of Minden meets at noon on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at the Minden Opera House. Meetings feature engaging speakers and visitors are welcome.
