Pints for Polio
Raising a Glass. Ending a Disease. Changing the World.
Since 1979, Rotary has led the global fight to eradicate polio — a mission that has reduced cases worldwide by more than 99%. What was once a devastating and widespread disease now exists in only a few remaining regions of the world. This historic progress is the result of steady leadership, trusted partnerships, and unwavering commitment — values that continue to define Rotary’s work today.
In 2024, the Rotary Club of Minden launched its own local expression of that global mission: Pints for Polio. Hosted at Thunderhead Brewing in nearby Axtell, the event brings together community members for an evening of craft beer, great food, and meaningful fellowship — all in support of a cause that reaches far beyond our hometown.
More than a fundraiser, Pints for Polio reflects the club’s modern and engaging approach to service. By combining community connection with purposeful impact, the event creates an inviting environment where long-time Rotarians, new supporters, and curious guests can gather, learn, and contribute together. It’s service expressed through camaraderie — honoring Rotary’s heritage while welcoming the next generation of changemakers.
Every dollar raised during the event is directed to Rotary International’s PolioPlus program, the flagship initiative driving vaccination and eradication efforts worldwide. Through Rotary’s unique partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, each dollar contributed is matched 2-to-1 — tripling the impact of every gift and accelerating the push toward a polio-free world.
