100 Years of Service Since 1926
The Rotary Club of Minden celebrates 100 years of Service Above Self in 2026. To commemorate this occasion the club is donating a 25 foot flagpole to the City of Minden which will be placed in Chataqua Park in June 2026.


Flag Project
Honoring Tradition. Strengthening Community. Serving with Pride.
Rotary Club of Minden members place American flags in front of houses and businesses on Memorial Day, Flag Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day, and then stores the flags during the rest of the year. Subscriptions for this service are $25 per year, and funds raised are used to support Rotary community projects.

Pints for Polio
Raising a Glass. Ending a Disease. Changing the World.
Rotary began its fight against worldwide polio in 1979. As a result polio has nearly been eradicated. The Rotary Club of Minden started the Pints for Polio event in 2024. The event is held at Thunderhead Brewing in Axtell, and participants enjoy craft beer, food and friendship. All funds are contributed to Rotary International Polio Plus program. Each dollar raised is matched 2 to 1 by the Gates Foundation.

Dictionaries for Third Graders
Empowering Young Minds. Building Foundations for Lifelong Learning.
Each year the Rotary Club of Minden presents all of the third-graders in Kearney County with age-appropriate dictionaries. Teachers use the dictionaries to teach students how to look-up words.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)
Inspiring Confident Leaders. Investing in Tomorrow.
Every summer, the Rotary Club of Minden has believed that leadership is not only developed — it is discovered, nurtured, and strengthened through opportunity. Each year, the club sponsors two local high school sophomores or juniors to attend the Great Plains Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp, a four-day immersive leadership experience held at Camp Maranatha in Maxwell, Nebraska.

Annual Pancake Feed

Each November, in partnership with the Minden Chamber of Commerce Holiday Walk/Run, the Rotary Club of Minden hosts its annual Pancake Feed — a long-standing tradition that brings neighbors together around a shared table for a shared purpose. What begins as a simple breakfast becomes a meaningful investment in the future of our community.

Each year, the club proudly awards scholarships to local high school seniors and 4-H participants — recognizing hard work, leadership, and a commitment to service.

Rotary Youth Exchange

The Rotary Club of Minden proudly participates in Rotary Youth Exchange, a long-standing international program designed to foster cultural understanding, leadership development, and lifelong global connections. Through this initiative, the club sponsors students from other countries to live and study in our community, creating meaningful opportunities for mutual learning and friendship.

Interact Club of Minden
Empowering Young Leaders. Inspiring Service in Action.
The Rotary Club of Minden proudly sponsors the Interact Club of Minden — a high school organization that reflects Rotary’s values in action and introduces students to the power of service, leadership, and global citizenship. As the youth extension of Rotary, Interact provides students with meaningful opportunities to serve their community while developing skills that will shape their futures.
